On the day I committed to take blogging seriously, I also took a visit to Barnes and Noble. Not surprisingly, there were more than a few “experts” out there ready to sell me their must-have, everybody-wins, get-rich-quick books. After sifting through the masses, I’d picked out a handful of books and eventually settled on Problogger – Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Salary.

Problogger is written by well-known bloggers, Darren Rowse (@Problogger) and Chris Garrett (@ChrisGarrett). Both men are seasoned, full-time professional bloggers, managing their own sites and blogs, as well as writing for other top blogging sites.

The book does a good job of breaking down the basic concepts of what it is to start and maintain a blog (i.e., posting frequency, building a community, SEO and technical issues to name a few), while providing readers with practical tips that can be applied to any number of blog niches. There are suggestions for everything from types of blog posts (great for bloggers-block), to ideas for enhancing and customizing your blog. Rowse and Garrett also cover the money-making opportunities of blogging.

Overall Rating: A | Problogger is a terrific read for beginners, but certainly not an appropriate buy for those who feel they have a grasp of the basics.

Table of Contents:

Blogging for Money

Niche Blogging

Setting Up Your Blog

Blog Writing

Blog Income and Earning Strategies

Buying and Selling Blogs

Blog Networks

Blog Promotion and Marketing

Secrets of Successful Blogs

Creating Something Worthwhile
