Don’t Just Read! Do!

Wisdom: “Ability to apply knowledge or experience or understanding or common sense and insight”.
Most of us bloggers spend a lot of time reading and searching the internet. We’re constantly trying to find new topics, interesting news or advice to help us be better bloggers. In fact, that’s why you’re reading this right now.
When we started this blog, 4 days shy of a month ago, our purpose was and continues to be: helping you. We want you to be better at engaging with your readers, reaching your audience and becoming meaningful assets of your respective communities.
However, for this to be accomplished, you also need to do your part. Notice the following quote:
I’ve never really had a mission statement for this blog. So, since this is a kind of reboot, I think it’s time to draft one. Here goes:
This blog is intended to get me writing and keep me writing. It is meant to open myself up, share experiences that matter, and find and make friends who value intellect, writing, thoughtfulness and the leading of a deliberate life.
This reader put into practice our advice. To say the least, it made me feel great; it gave me the feeling that we’re doing something right around here. Why? Not only do we want to give you the best tips on how to have an excellent blog, we want you to put it to work. Because, what is knowledge without wisdom?

You make a great point here Tim. Good work.
I’ve heard that success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration, but we often spend so much time getting inspired we don’t have time to get the work done. Thanks for the challenge Tim!
It’s a shame, but I found that I had to stop subscribing to a lot of RSS feeds because I was spending all my mornings reading through other people’s content instead of producing my own. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE reading, learning and connecting with people, but some times that can put a hold on your own content generation.
You did great on this post, you took the words right out of my mind. Keep it up Tim.
Thank you all for the nice comments. I’m happy that I was able to communicate my point.
I’m new to this writing thing and am trying to make a very determined effort at it.
My known issues are:
No experience writing professionally
I write like I converse
Too much to say and my friends keep telling me to write a book… (how?)
I have no idea where to start
I will be here everyday hoping to gain the skills and knowledge to be a great writer. for starters I read “On Writing” by Stephen King… any more ideas, tips, please advise.
