Approach your blog with the right mindset

mindsetIf you’re thinking about getting more clicks or reaching more people or attracting more links, you’re probably not approaching your blog with the right mindset.

Sure, blogging is as much of an art as it is a craft, so there’s no right or wrong way to go about it — unless you’re not publishing new posts … that’s definitely the wrong way to blog, — but by approaching it with these little measurements of success at the front of your mind, you’re probably going to hit a wall at some point and wonder what happend.

That wall may be the realization that your content isn’t as powerful as it used to be.

That wall may be a reader asking what happened to your blog.

That wall may be this post, encouraging you to let go of the numbers and instead focus on the conversation.

Do away with your obsession over numbers and instead focus on what matters … your readers. Your readers are the people that make your blog worth while, so if they stop coming around, you’ll soon find yourself frustrated because your stats continue to decline no mater what you try.

Think about your approach to blogging and what your overall mindset is.

Is it positive?
