A few months ago I picked up the book &quot;on the psychology of military incompetence&quot; by Norman Dixon. Mr. Dixon is an army man and a famous psychologist. In the book he analyzes how commanders have messed up during war situations and then he translates those decision making conditions into general conditions.

Now one of the clauses that leads to defeat (or in a military situation to loss of life) is the stubbornness of dogma. The British did not want to accept tanks into the army because the commanders had this dogmatic belief that the cavalry was king. The Germans on the other hand did accept armored vehicles (tanks) and guess who had the upper hand. 

Now this holds true in today&#039;s events. Not being on top of the game, means you are on the bottom. There&#039;s no in between here. Old media is dying, new media is rising and those who understand how to exploit this &quot;boom&quot; will benefit from such knowledge. 

Now I believe that blogging is not the optimal solution for conversation, that&#039;s exactly the reason why I started wehelpdesign.com (powered by the stackexchange platform). 

You see, discussion on blogs is against one of the big rules of blogging. Every commercial is taught to never ever argue with the people who comment because it may damage his reputation and cause him to lose money. But in order to create debate, you have to argue. 

A lot of blogs are also one way. Especially when you have guest authors, the author posts a post. People comment but often times the author does not reply to the comments or at least doesn&#039;t reply to all of them. 

I think that Q&amp;A platforms like wehelpdesign.com will be the next iteration in social knowledge sharing.

Dogma is a destructive, irrational force. It is the product of fear to change, an element within human beings that serves a defensive purpose but in cases such as the one we are discussing, leads to demise.</description>
