Why you need a personal blog

Personal blogs aren’t what they used to be.

Gone are the days blogs used to be a place where a blogger could share his or her experiences in college, vent about the crush that doesn’t seem to notice them, or publish their two cents in broad range of topics … and actually keep a visitor interested.

It’s different these days.

Personal blogs build personal brand

Between the mess we call the economy and what we can achieve independently with the utilization of the web, more and more people are exploring ways to earn a living independent from an employer.

In essence, now’s the time to unleash that inner-entrepreneur and try something.

If you’re familiar with entrepreneurship, you already know there’s a lot of hit and miss involved when making something from scratch. A lot. You never know if something is going to work or not until you’ve already failed or succeeded.

That’s where the personal blog comes in.

No matter if your latest project succeeds or fails, you’ll have your personal blog, which you can use as a sort of social resume. In addition, you can use your personal blog to build a following around your life’s work … as opposed to your work on a specific project. This way, even if you do fail, you won’t lose that following interested in your work, because even if you eventually shut down your blog or social profiles related to your project, you’ll still have that following back at your personal blog.

How are you using your personal blog? What software are you using for your personal blog?
