Spill It: We’re At Your Service – How Can We Help You?
It was just months ago that Walmart workers had to wear smocks, many of which said “How May I Help You?” on the back. Stylish! Thankfully they’ve changed to polo shirts so as to stay right on the heels of their closest competitors. Well, I’m donning such a smock in this blog post.
I’m Brandon Cox, and I’ll be assuming duties as Editor of Fuel Your Blogging. I wanted to take just a quick second to introduce myself, but also to thank Tim Smith for all of his hard work in growing the site so far. As for me, you can read more about me on the About page, but in short, I’ve been blogging for about five years in various places around the net, and while blogging is a great passion of mine, I have a greater one: connecting with, encouraging, and helping other bloggers.
Blogging, to me, is more than a quick way to make money online. It’s far more, in fact. Blogging is an art form, a communication medium, a community-building tool, and a marketing vehicle (which is still about more than just “making money online”). So, for the Spill It! this week (which I’ll be continuing in honor of Tim’s tradition), how can I help you? Or better, how can we help you?

What can an online magazine dedicated to the art and industry of blogging add to your life that would benefit you most? What kind of articles, news, or tools do you need? What kind of help do you need? Go ahead, spill it in the comments – I’m waiting with baited breath!

SEO tips, if your a business how to effectively brand your blog to go alongside your website.
Anything that is how-to for those type of things!
Excellent – thanks for the tip, I’m noting it!
First off: Congrats Brandon! You’ll make an excellent editor.
Second: I would love to get a feel of styles in blogs. Personal, professional, laid-back, etc: what are people’s favorites? What do people read the most? I agree with Ulmer on branding a blog with a website as well, that’s a good topic. Along with that, it’d be pretty cool to see something along the lines of “Upcoming Blog App of the week.” There are so many applications made for blogging, that it’s hard to keep up sometimes. I think that would be a great topic to hit on.
Nikki, thanks and I hope you’re right!
All great suggestions – there are a ton of great tools and I do think we’ll be highlighting some good and new ones along the way. Writing all of this down.
While Fuel Your Blogging is not one of my subscribed blogs from the Fuel network (Being a designer, I prefer Fuel your creativity), but I have been checking FYB time and often and I love what you guys do. The best part is the site has so less Ads. How about creating a series of Ebooks for free or cheaper price that gets awesome content from all your network!
I want my Free copy if it ever churns out true! :)
Haha, thanks Tuhin and you’ll be the first to know… unless of course I can’t find you or if I forget. ;) That is a good suggestion – another one written down, and thanks for the compliments!
Brandon > Congratulations!
My suggestion is case studies! People love them and they tell a story about blogging in a way that few people can do otherwise. They are time consuming but worth effort!
Excellent thought, Seth! A story is worth a thousand… something.
And thanks on the congrats!
