My ideas are so random and you are right, they never come to you when you need them the most. I have always got a note pad open so that when I do have an idea for a blog post, I can quickly make a note of it.

You’re right, in my case I get a lot of inspiration from my personal life and work. In addition, I also get inspiration from my everyday experience in life. :-)

A lot of post ideas come to me as I’m just people watching and away from work. Relaxing without any particular focus is one of the best ways to get that inspiration to hit.

And I swear, you find the best comments in the grocery store. You’d be surprised what people bitch, complain, rave, rejoice and mutter about – all fodder for great posts. Even better if you can strike up a conversation with someone!

The eavesdropping thing is funny. I’m usually oblivious to what’s happening around us, but my wife can tell you what’s going on three tables away. She’s not nosy, just observant and it usually stimulates great conversation between the two of us.

Getting away From the Computer is Maybe the Best Idea but listening to Others Make you Feel like Mr X. I think it is also a good Idea to Have a microblog or just Post a Link to an Interesting Article.

My Ninja Skills are so strong that I don’t even have to leave my computer to eavesdrop on the neighborhood. I can use my binoculars and tell what my neighbors are watching…and doing. I’m just that good.

I love your grocery store examples though. It’s like when I’m trying to watch the neighbors TV through the window and I try to guess what the actors are saying. I could write a post about how to interpret what your clients are saying? Do you think I’m getting the hang of this idea?

P.S. I’m not really a creepy stalker. I promise.
